version one
Pasty Clay ( Jessica Lange ) grew up dreaming of becoming a famous singer, living in a mansion full of yellow roses. A performance on a live TV show led to her rapid rise. She became famous for many good songs, such as "Crazy", "Sweet Dreams" and so on. Its trembling and emotional singing is nostalgic. She married a manly but unpromising man ( Ed Harris ) before she became famous. Her husband's lack of self-confidence, especially the pressure brought by Pasty's rapid rise to fame, was completely unable to adjust, and as a result, there were many conflicts in the marriage. The accident of a plane crash ended her short but sparkling life.
Version 2
In Winchester, Virginia, in 1956, at a dance, typesetter Charlie (Ed Harris) falls in love with singer Pazzie (Jessica Lange) at first sight and offers to date her. Although Patsy's relationship with her husband was not harmonious, she cautiously declined Charlie's request. Soon, Patsy and her husband divorced. Charlie went to hear Patsy sing again and again, and Patsy gradually fell in love with him, and the two got married. Charlie was very unhappy that Pazzy could only spend the weekend with Charlie at the motel, so Charlie started drinking again. With the help of his mother, Pazzi's singing career has achieved great success. In 1958, Charlie received a call-up order for military service, and Pazzi moved into her husband's barracks. Because of pregnancy, Pazzi temporarily suspended her singing career, so she was in a bad mood and affected the relationship between husband and wife. After giving birth, Pazzi returned to the music scene again, sang folk songs, and achieved success again. In 1961, the red singer Pazzi had two children, and her relationship with her husband was also uncertain. They could neither live in harmony nor separate. Charlie is jealous of Pazzi's infatuation, and he beats Pazzi so badly that he goes to jail. Charlie confesses, which makes Pazzi, who was already determined to divorce him, hesitate. Charley was in pain when Pazzi's plane crashed and died while performing in Kansas.
