Binge watching the last one, so sad. Every year, I have to dig out some stories from the history of World War II. The picture and music from the big producers just feel like the big producers, and the content is quite satisfactory. German is good!

I saw that many people in the comments compared it to "Silence as the Sea". Although both of them focus on love, this film is still different from "Silence as the Sea". "Silence as the Sea" simply describes the relationship between the male and female protagonists. Subtle and deep emotions, but the "French Suite" has a stronger war background and a stronger story, so its depiction of emotions is not as delicate and moving as "Silence as the Sea". This is its shortcoming. Love Xiaomi, but why not get a French actor to play the heroine? This role doesn't need Xiaomi-level acting skills, it's a waste. ANYWA, I personally think this film is much better than another film with the same theme, "Aftermath". In addition, are the male protagonists sure that they are not the same father as MAX? The two look alike. Tom Schilling looked petite in a forest of Germanic flesh.

Lucile Angellier: Hardly a word of our true feelings had ever been spoken. Not a single word about love.
-
Madeleine Labarie: My father always said, if you want to see what people are truly made of, start a war.

Matthias' obsession with and respect for the original forms a critical effect on the film

An impatient version of "Silent Deep Sea"

Apparently it's some unfinished text

sad love story

Wouldn't the content of the two originals be too similar? Men sacrifice more, and female audiences should be flattered
