Billy Wilder's script is unspoken, ups and downs, and fascinating. It's still an interesting story about escaping from the concentration camp, but this time a Nazi undercover character is added, which makes the story more confusing, so the main line of the film changes from escaping the concentration camp to finding the hidden undercover agent. The image of Sefton, a shrewd American businessman, basically symbolizes the position of the United States during World War II: he doesn't care about the war situation, he just wants to make a fortune by relying on the war, but once he finds himself framed and the situation is difficult, he will ignore it. All power will find out the person who framed him, four and a half stars.

The amazing Billy Wilder, the god of screenwriting! The way to prove the spy may not be very clever, but the way to rescue the lieutenant in the end is too clever. While highlighting Sefton's wit and cleverness, the scene where the Nazi spy is shot by the Nazis is also full of ironic literary character. But this is still only Wilder's second-rate work.

Sefton: If I ever run into any of you bums on a street corner, just let's pretend we've never met before.

Sgt. Schulz: We will grab some shovels and we will undig that tunnel which you digged.
Animal: Shulz, why don't we just plug up the tunnel with the Commandant in one end, and you in the other?
