I really fell in love with the movies of Hepang and Ingrid Bergman, and the movies of psychoanalysis. Dali’s surreal dream depiction and Heath’s suspenseful presentation and scrutiny are a perfect combination. Parker's performance is still very immature.

Go through Hitchcock's biography and the relevant parts of this film to verify my perception. Sure enough, this film is weird from preparation to shooting. Ingrid Bergman's childhood intuition was right: the love story didn't work. Looking at the film itself, she is really not suitable for such a nympho role. Especially the interaction with the "teacher" is extremely awkward, and even has a feeling of incest (see the biography, maybe the awkward body movements come from Hitchcock's guidance). In the film, she also experienced sexual harassment (the sofa in the hotel lobby), and two pornographic jokes ("the patient thinks I'm a juicer", etc.), which are very inconsistent. Gregory Peck was still a rookie at the time, very thin, a little bit of a hoot, and a fragile temperament. Dali's dream part is not as impactful as the children's slide. As for the dream analysis in the script, looking at it now, it's a joke. (111 minute version)

Dr. Murchison: [with his revolver pointed at Constance] You're an excellent analyst, Dr. Peterson, but a rather stupid woman.

Constance Petersen: I'll make you coffee with an egg in it.
