TV network single episode ratings record.
Before the launch of "God of Arena", Starz also announced that "Blood and Sand" would continue filming for the second season, and confirmed the replacement of Andy Whitefield in the role of Spartacus actor Liam Mai Kentyre (Liam McIntyre). The following is an interview with the new Spartacus Liam McEntyre after he got the role.
Q: This is one of the most watched male characters in TV history. It finally defeated all the "big hot" candidates on the Internet. How does it feel to make everyone pay attention to you?
McEntyre: I really don't know the difference! For me these are all new experiences. But I understand that all these concerns are due to "Spartacus: Blood and Sand", he is the best and coolest! Sometimes, you still feel uncomfortable when you read something about yourself in the newspaper, but I am still very happy to be a part of it, whether it is winning or losing. It is an honor for me to be associated with such a big opportunity. This is simply a hell-like experience of ups and downs.
Q: It seems that before the producer gives you this role, you have to start training muscles. Is there any story?
McEntyre: The day before my first audition for "Spartacus: Blood and Sand", I just finished shooting a movie. That movie was called "Frozen Moments", and it was my first movie to play an important role. I play the role of a guy who has been lying in bed for 12 months due to a coma caused by drugs, and he looks very bad when he wakes up. I must lose 20 kilograms. I just pretended that I was going to play a great gladiator. I looked like a 14-year-old skinny boy! But I did a good job, and the producers were very confident in me.
Q: How do you look now?
McEntyre: I have already made up for the 20 kilograms I lost, pure muscle. I will continue to train and become stronger until the shooting starts. I have never experienced such physical training, it is like real hell, a good hell-like experience. My body may be very confused, from a thin extreme to a strong extreme. I don’t even know myself! I will look at myself in the mirror and say, "Who are you?".
Q: Are you a fan of this show?
McEntyre: Oh yes! Who is not? When I was growing up, what I wanted most to play was the role of Russell Crowe in "Gladiator." That is my fantasy. I think I realized it! When my good friends learned that I was auditioning for this drama, they were all very excited. Except for one thing, they all told me: "Lam, we all hope you can get this role. But we are really not that much. I want to watch you naked on TV."
Q: Ha, you know these are the sex scenes that must be prepared for this job.
McEntyre: I don't know how I will feel! But I guess this may be an important factor in making this show so popular. I only know one thing: my mother will get a very special edited version of the parts that only she "can" see. Of course there are my friends!
