As a Hollywood remake of Asian horror movies, "Shutter" is a collection of original stories from Thailand, carefully tuned Japanese horror, and professional Hollywood special effects. It seems to be a masterpiece, but the actual effect is worthy A narrow tie with the original Thai version.
The script polished by screenwriter Luke Dawson has become more "Hollywood", and American audiences may easily swallow the standard story, but the horror elements have been diluted a lot. "Shutter" seems to be more like a suspenseful story wrapped with horror elements, but it lacks the layout of the bridge and the setting of details, which leads to the moment when the truth is revealed, and the plot lacks tension at all. Masayuki Ochiai's rejection of special effects shots, although maintaining the original flavor of Japanese horror movies, but the weak script makes it difficult to create the delicate style of Japanese horror movies. Fortunately, the 85-minute length saved "Shutter", at least from the audience's point of view, this was not a long viewing process, although it was not very frightened from beginning to end
