Martial arts instructor Eric Oram is Downey’s boxing friend who has practiced Wing Chun for many years. He helped Downey design martial arts routines during the filming.
The director of photography Philip Roslow used lights and cameras to create a tangible texture effect, and these action scenes also give people a sense of real experience. Rosslow said: "Guy Ritchie hopes that this movie will make the audience feel immersive.
Guy Ritchie also uses these action scenes to analyze Holmes' thinking changes in the fight. He and Rosslow used a high-speed digital camera called "Phantom" to create a super slow motion effect by breaking down the photography skills of the time period.
A key action scene took place at the unfinished Tower Bridge in London. Guy Ritchie rehearsed the scene with the actors over and over again, knowing that Downey's skill is good, so he must give full play to his advantages. Guy Ritchie uses a performance method that combines pre-rehearsal and improvisation to show the chaos in the fighting scene.
