Shanghai Noon evaluation action

"Shanghai Noon" is Jackie Chan's first work in Hollywood. The film not only carries forward the usual kung fu comedy characteristics of Jackie Chan movies, but also incorporates the thrills of American Western films. It tells the old story of an Ouchi guard who travels across the ocean to rescue a Chinese princess. Jackie Chan has transformed into an oriental cowboy, subverting the traditional image of a western cowboy. Wearing a Qing Dynasty robe, he fights against the enemy with his bare hands. His actions are funny and humorous, creating a new style of western comedy kung fu movies. It’s not enough to mix and match characters. Jackie Chan deliberately challenged the space design of the Chinese martial arts film bamboo garden, adding typical western scenes into the action scenes. The small tavern in the dimly lit space and the pillars and flying beams of the oriental architecture are moved to the scaffolding on the execution ground. Since the birth of "The Train Robbery", the originator of western films, western films seem to like to perform on trains. "Shanghai Noon" surprises the audience twice, combining equestrianism with a train duel, lying on the back of a galloping horse without forgetting to show their fists, and the dangerous moments on the train, without forgetting the label-style funny scenes.
