The film title "San Andreas Fault" refers to a fault that runs through California, the United States. It is about 1,287 kilometers long. Large cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco are on this fault zone. It has existed for more than 20 million years, and some seismologists believe it was caused by a huge earthquake.

This film is Gugino's third collaboration with Johnson after "The Adventures of Wushan" and "Speed Revenge". Director Payton previously directed the second part of "The Adventures in the Center of the Earth" starring Johnson, and plans to shoot the third part.
