"Rosetta" has a documentary style, expressing the theme that if society cannot protect the rights of young people in their work, it is possible for them to embark on the path of crime. The film is not sensational, nor does it attempt to beautify the soul of the protagonist Rosetta. The film was tracked and shot by a hand-held camera, with a very realistic style and fast lens switching, presenting a miserable and cold picture, thus reflecting the cruel and ruthless society of reality. With the actions of the characters and the urgency of the plot, the rhythm of the camera is constantly changing, and the audience seems to always follow Rosetta, close to her, and close to her life. There is neither an angry youth-style rebellion nor hopeless blackness in the film. There is a recurring scene in the film: Rosetta always changes shoes at a hole in the lawn, takes them off, puts them on, doing so over and over again. In fact, this is a true portrayal of countless people in real life: calmness reveals habitual numbness, and helplessness has more hopes that have not been completely wiped out.
