Rio Bravo evaluation action

The film is a classic Western film with a complete structure. The final shootout of the hostage exchange scene is realistic and exciting. The character depiction is rough but fine, and the interpersonal relationship is exquisitely described. The theme song is also very touching. ()
The American classic Western film "Rio Bravo" embodies the hero complex of the hero in the heart of the protagonist. The film is detailed and has a tight rhythm. ()
Great directors always create under the premise of following the existing rules of the game, just like Howard Hawkes and his film "Rio Bravo". This is a great work with extraordinary psychological insight and aesthetic perception, but Howard Hawks makes the audience watch like other westerns in the film, and is not affected by the psychological factors in the film. Because he can successfully use an outdated genre to express his own thoughts, Howard Hawks is greater than other directors. ()

20190927le. That's why I love old movies. A lot of shots and cinematic feel are great now. The several partners arranged for the sheriff are wonderful and complementary. John Wayne's sheriff is too upright, maybe it would be better if it were a little more ruffian. It looks cool. 4.5

A classic western film, a 1959 film, has a unique sense of vicissitudes. The story is simple but ups and downs, a little bit procrastinating, and the characters are made of flesh and blood, especially Stumpy, the nagging and funny old man, who not only has a sense of justice but is also full of joy. Except for the Alcoholic Deputy Sheriff, other positive figures are suspected of being cool. My favorite is the scene where a few people played and sang in the police station on the eve of the decisive battle, which made the final gunfight scene inferior.

Rio Bravo quotes

  • John T. Chance: You want that gun, pick it up. I wish you would.

  • John T. Chance: [explaining why Joe got beat up] He didn't take too kindly to being arrested for murder.

    Joe Burdette: It wasn't murder.

Nathan Burdette: If he says it wasn't murder, why do you say it was?

John T. Chance: Man gets shot that's got a gun, there's room for reasonable doubt. Man gets shot that hasn't got a gun, what would you call it? But, you knew that already otherwise you wouldn't have set things up the way you did.

Nathan Burdette: Just what have I done?

John T. Chance: You're a rich man, Burdette... big ranch, pay a lot of people to do what you want 'em to do. And you got a brother. He's no good but he's your brother. He committed twenty murders you'd try and see he didn't hang for 'em.

Nathan Burdette: I don't like that kinda talk. Now you're practically accusing me...

John T. Chance: Let's get this straight. You don't like? I don't like a lot of things. I don't like your men sittin' on the road bottling up this town. I don't like your men watching us, trying to catch us with our backs turned. And I don't like it when a friend of mine offers to help and twenty minutes later he's dead! And i don't like you, Burdette, because you set it up.
