The theme of "Replicas" is human cloning and artificial intelligence. It not only has a lot of room for development, but also needs to have characteristics that are different from other science fiction films. Unfortunately, the content is monotonous and lacks imagination. The film doesn't seem to understand the interestingness of the subject being discussed. The craziness of photography and the over-simplified production design style make the film show a sense of claustrophobia, and the fact that most of the film’s plot only takes place in Will’s home and laboratory, even more so The claustrophobic atmosphere of the film is strong. The main problem is the script, which is either artificial or boring.
"Replicas" is a boring work, a monotonous exploration of interesting topics. As far as the actor's performance is concerned, Keanu Reeves is still passing, not embarrassing himself. However, the script of the film and the stage scheduling of director Jeffrey Nachmanoff only provided him with a few dramatic performance opportunities. Most of his character portrayal appears blunt and perfunctory. Thomas Middleditch's performance has no depth, fails to vividly show the duality of the role, neither shows the cunning sense of a deceiver, nor shows the ambition of pure concentration   .

Ed Whittle: [nervously chuckles] Whoa! Hey man, let's, uh, pump the brakes on the crazy train, alright?

  • Will Foster: [preparing to transfer Mona's neural imprint to her clone] Ready?

Ed Whittle: Has that ever mattered?

    [Will smiles]
