"The Valley of the Red River" tells the story of one day in August 1861. A team of caravans from St. Louis to California was about to reach the Texas border. Team member Thomas Dunson left the team and went south, and his partner Groot followed him. His lover, Finn, stayed, and Dunson gave her a bracelet as a token. Dunson and others arrived at the Red River robbery in Sidehammer, Texas, and found this bracelet from the hands of an Indian who was killed. Dunson gave the bracelet to Matt Garth, a young man who had just been rescued. Fourteen years later, Dunson established the Red River Robbery Farm and drove 10,000 cattle to Missouri with Matt to sell. Several cowboys hired by Dunson attempt to kill Dunson and then flee, with Groot and Matt protecting Dunson. Dunson was ready to hang them, and Matt left Dunson for objecting to doing so. Dunson chases Matt to kill him. Matt rescues Tess Miley, a girl injured by an arrow, and falls in love with her. On August 14, 1865, they completed an unprecedented herd transfer in Abilene, when Dunson arrived in Abilene and finally fought Matt. Miley shot to the sky to stop the vendetta between them, they made up their minds, and since then they jointly run Dunson's Red River Jie Farm, and Matt and Miley are also ready to get married and start a family.

The whole thing is grand, but Hawkes' handling always feels a bit rambunctious. In the second half, there was a change of commander, and the image of John Wayne, who did not appear during this period, was actually always in the hearts of the audience.
