During the battle between the United States and Mexico in the nineteenth century, Army Captain John Bauer was sent by the military to an outpost in the deserted Sierra Nevada because of his cowardice. He lived a boring life with a mob of inferior soldiers. Later, a Scotsman, Ives, broke into the barracks. He confessed that he had been here with a group of people, but encountered a heavy snowstorm on the way, and everyone hid in the cave. Forced by hunger and cold, they actually killed each other to eat human flesh, and only Ives escaped from this crazy cave.
