Quo Vadis movie plot

I thought it was a biopic of Nero when I saw the Chinese translation of "The Tyrant Burning the City". In fact, the film's original Latin name was Quo Vadis? (Where are you going? John 13.36), suggesting that this film is about religion: St. Paul and St. Peter Doro's Roman mission and Nero's persecution. Petronius' flair is impressive (he died before Seneca in the film and Seneca watched him cut his wrists all the way, which is a crit). The two later Roman emperors, Galba and Nerva, also played soy sauce. Nazarius, the little boy beside Peter who uttered the Holy Word, does not know if there was one in history. Deborah Kerr's beauty is very classic.

Beyond the boundaries of love and hate, is it religion or power

Poppaea: [as Marcus enters] As usual your entrance is proud and aloof.
Vinicius: I came proudly as fast as my hands and knees will carry me.
Poppaea: And as always, sardonic and unassailable.
Vinicius: So happily, so unassailable? I've never been so readily expertly vanquished in my life.
Poppaea: I believe everything except the word vanquished.
Poppaea: [Suggestively while taking wine] I should like to vanquish you Marcus.
Vinicius: Like the spider who eats her mate when he is no longer a necessity?
Poppaea: [Suggestively] Mmm-Hmmm - Something like that.

Emperor Nero: Is it possible that human beings can produce such a sound?
Petronius: Yes, when they've been pushed too far.
