Although the film has a strong classical taste on the theme, it uses a modern sense of audio-visual techniques to make up for the gap that may be caused to modern audiences. Director Gavin O'Connor used cold tones and alienated compositions to create a New York filled with despair, with a cold style. The appearance of Edward Harrison Norton rendered this style to the fullest. He mixed cold, firm and fragile eyes, which is unforgettable. In such an age of banter and deconstruction, "Pride and Glory" is a sincere, old-school classical tragedy that is commendable
.
"Pride and Glory", a movie based on the story of the Irish-American police family being broken by a corruption scandal, is somewhat outdated. The plot of the moral confrontation between the brothers is a bit clichéd, and O'Connor failed to add a new twist to the old-fashioned plot. O'Connor is indeed very successful in portraying the daily life of ordinary people, but all he outlines are quite heavy pictures. Everything under the photographer Declan's lens seems to be covered with a gloomy black shadow, with the soundtrack of Mark Islam, making the heavy atmosphere of the whole movie even more intense
