This film is based on real people and real events. Bobby is a kind, docile, and pious teenager. He has parents, grandmother, brother and sister who love him. However, after he confessed to his family that he was gay, everything changed. Bobby's mother Mary believed in the Bible's admonition that homosexuality would go to hell, and tried every means to correct her son, but did not realize that Bobby's pain was increasing day by day. Before his 20th birthday, Bobby met David, a cheerful young man, but Mary refused to accept the relationship. She looked at Bobby and said word by word: I don't want to have a gay son. Bobby left home sadly, drove to the bridgehead of the highway, and jumped down with tears. Bobby's death completely awakened his family. In the endless remorse, Mary began to contact the gay people, joined the PFLAG group, and discussed Bible interpretation with the clergy. After reading through her son's diary, she finally discovered that she had always known that her son was different, but she refused to face him. The mother who lost her son cried bitterly in the downpour. The rain and tears washed away stubbornness, prejudice and incomprehension. Mary then devoted her life to the cause of gay rights protection. She left a famous sentence when promoting the City Council’s Gay Freedom Day proposal: "When you say amen at home or in the church, please think twice, there is a child listening." Just like an eternal sun, it illuminates countless confusion, despair and Gay teenagers hungry for approval
