Eremy (aka Powder)'s mother was on her way to the hospital when she was struck by lightning. She died after giving birth to Powder (Sean Patrick Flanery) who was hairless and looked like an albinism man. And Powder was hated and abandoned by his father. For sixteen years, his grandparents kept Powder under house arrest in the basement to protect him. With the death of his grandparents, Powder was also discovered and brought into the sun. At first, Powder's appearance aroused the hostility of the residents of the town, and there were gangsters in the school who teased and bullied him, but then Powder's teacher discovered that his IQ was extremely high, and Powder used his superpowers to benefit the residents: including reducing a The pain of the police officer's wife's death, and the pain of describing a deer being shot to the hunter as if he had experienced it, the introverted and gentle Powder even won the favor of a girl named Linsey.
Facing the cruel outside society, what should Bald do? What decision will he make in the future? When human beings have evolved to a certain level, they do not need to use physical or language to build and purchase defensive force, because the power of the mind naturally transcends everything. "Powder" is a sci-fi film based on the above ideals, and I did feel the power of the mind like never before. The protagonist is a human with a highly developed mind. Because of his mind-reading ability, he does not need a bright appearance to communicate with the outside world, and because of external defects (white children, electricity-absorbing bodies), he can more easily contact the darkness of human nature. It is natural to use actions to exclude dissidents and protect themselves with lies. The protagonist knows the evil in human nature but it is very painful. However, this world is not dominated by evolved human beings. The world is too chaotic, black and white. Regardless, it's something to ponder.
