Oren Perry, the director and screenwriter of "Smart: Ghost Record", was engaged in the programming of animation and computer games before filming the film. After having a girlfriend, he had the idea to settle down, so he chose a house in the suburbs of the city. But living in a quiet suburban area can always easily detect every tiny sound, especially in the middle of the night. Two years later, Oren Perry had this idea: It would be interesting to set up a few cameras in the house and record what happened in the middle of the night. If these cameras can really capture anything, it can be made into a very interesting movie. Soon, he began to draft the script according to his own ideas, and remodeled their house with his girlfriend. They paved a brand new wooden floor, hung some pictures on the wall and rearranged their bedroom. It even made a manifestation board.
