Midwestern United States in 1936. Moses, who made a living by deceiving and selling the Bible, decided to send her daughter Eddie to his aunt's house after burying his lover who was crushed to death by a car. He asked the perpetrator for 200 yuan for Eddie and bought a train ticket for her. However, Eddie mistakenly thought that Moses was his biological father and refused to ask for the 200 yuan. Moses had to take her to her aunt's house. Along the way, Moses discovered that Eddie was a good helper in selling the Bible. Unexpectedly, in order to earn travel expenses, he fell into the trap of a gang of liquor cartels and was caught by the sheriff.
