The vampire in the film is not called Dracula , but Count Orlov. The reason why Murnau changed the name of the character was to conceal the fact that the script was mostly adapted from Bram Stoker's 1897 novel "Dracula", because Murnau did not buy the copyright to the novel before filming. Stoke’s widowrelict; French sued Mornau and won the case, and the official banned the film. Fortunately, several copies of the film were left. It was not until 1988 that the original film was seen again (Stoke’s respectable widowrelict; French) Due to natural reasons, the copyright can no longer be owned)
.
This film was classified as a German expressionist film in film history, but Mornau did not shoot indoors as the expressionist film advocated at the time, but chose the location of the filming on the outside. This is also considered a movie with a very personal style.
It turned out that there was no red, yellow, and blue picture seen on the DVD during the screening, and there was no soundtrack. These were all post-fixed films and added when the DVD version was released.
