Roger O. Thornhillis an ordinary advertiser with a little sense of humor. When he was eating with a client, two people suddenly came up and kidnapped him and called him Kipling. Roger was taken to a large house inexplicably, and met several unidentified people. The leader also believed that he was Kipling and asked him to cooperate in handing over things. Before Roger could understand, a few people filled him with a large bottle of bourbon and helped him into a car, seeming to create the illusion that he fell into the sea while driving under the influence. There was no accident in Roger's dimness. He was only accused of driving a stolen car while drunk by the police. No one believed Roger's confession the next day, and the people in the big house also insisted that he had gone drunk after attending the banquet. For his innocence, and out of curiosity, Roger found Keplin's hotel room based on clues from the previous night, but found nothing, but was chased by others. He came to the United Nations Building again, looking for the owner of the big house, but he was accused of the murderer of the United Nations officials. Afterwards, Roger was hunted down by the gang, but at the same time he was noticed by the FBI and was taken as an agent by the FBI. Eve Kendall and Leonard were dispatched to assist, and he finally got the criminal evidence from the gang and got together with Ava Kando.

Horror not only produces a dark, narrow space, but if necessary, it may also occur in a bright, empty place. The important thing is to let it not know when it will come and from which direction.

I like the humorous elements, which fills in the technical deficiencies at the time. When Cary Grant was filming "North by Northwest," he was paid $5,000 a day, and Eve was paid $2,000 a day. "North by Northwest" caused a great response when it was released, and it was considered Hitchcock's most popular and successful work at the time. By the way, in fact, my ideal hero is James Stewart. PS said that James Stewart was going to star in the film's leading actor, but the box office of "Victorius" was not good. Hitchcock blamed James for being too old and temperament, and later rejected him. In the end, Hitch looked for Cary Grant, who was 4 years older than James (but Cary Grant did look younger than James Stewart). "Victorius" became the last collaboration between James Stewart and Hitchcock.

North by Northwest quotes

  • Phillip Vandamm: Has anyone ever told you that you overplay your various roles rather severely, Mr. Kaplan?

  • Roger Thornhill: When I was a little boy, I wouldn't even let my mother undress me.

Eve Kendall: Well, you're a big boy now.
