Although it has obtained the permission to shoot the real outdoor scenes of the New York Museum of Natural History, given that the cultural relics and artworks in the museum are extremely valuable, and the film also includes a series of destruction scenes. In order to avoid damage to the cultural relics, the crew decided to rebuild the museum in the studio.
Claude Parr, the art director of the set for Martin Scorsese's "Aviator", took over the mission of "rebuilding the museum". In terms of design, director Sean Levy gave Claude Parr a lot of creative space without giving him much interference. Traditional museums are generally divided into several exhibition areas or exhibition halls. However, in the studio, Claude Parr only completely restored the aquarium. As for the other exhibition halls that need to appear in the film, only one part was built. , And then synthesize through digital technology in the later stage. About 10 designers are busy designing different layouts for the exhibition hall at the same time. Each exhibition hall has gone through several conventional architectural steps such as illustration, design, and construction. In order to be more realistic, the art masters spend more time on details. The statues, models and specimens on display are also from their hands.
