- The film is adapted from a racing game of the same name with sales of 140 million. - The editors of the film, the Jardins brothers, are veteran car fans, repairing various classic cars in their garage. The first car owned by John Jardins was the 1966 Ford Mustang.
- Director Scott Wolf and the film's stand-in actor Lance Gilbert were playmates who grew up together, because their fathers were both famous stand-in actors in Hollywood.
