A fifteen-year-old girl named Helena lives in a Circus. Her home is a mobile Circus. She always wants to escape from this family one day and live a new life. Once she quarreled with her parents about future plans, and then her mother fell ill. Helen blames herself for her mother's illness.
She thinks all this is her own fault. In the night before the day her mother was pushed into the operating room, Helen had a dream. She dreamed that she was in a strange world. In the dream, she entered a strange world, where there are two diametrically opposed queens: Queen of Light and Queen of Darkness. The Queen of Light and the Queen of Darkness ruled the two kingdoms. Suddenly, one day, the Queen of Light did not wake up, and the whole world of Light was deserted. Helen is entrusted by the Prime Minister of the World of Light to find the MirrorMask that can awaken the queen, and with her is a cunning clown Valentin. They encountered many strange creatures on the road, and they must always beware of the temptations of the Dark Queen. Their road forward became more and more difficult and dangerous, and Helen became more and more sinking into this dream world.
