"Phantom No Light" is the first film work by Hirokazu Ee
. Director Shiede was unable to choose between several actress candidates when he was casting a cast. A friend of the photographer who was the producer of the film provided a picture of Ekaku Masami, and Makiko's eyes impressed Director Shieda very deeply. When facing Makiko, Director Shiede felt that she had a strong will of a woman in her. He felt that she was a person who would use that kind of strong life philosophy and belief to do things, so he decided to use her as the heroine of the film. During the filming, Director Shiede reminded Makiko to focus on thinking about what expression she would show when faced with a huge loss, and how she would interpret the sudden sadness. Don't try to understand what Yumiko has lost, but look for it. What she lost in her own heart-her own "lost".
