Mr. Chevrsey is a detective in Paris. The extramarital affairs he has been commissioned to investigate are countless. His daughter Ailian regards these as love signs. She is deeply impressed by the fate of the cheating, and hopes that one day she will do it too. Vigorous love can happen. In his father's case, there was a single rich American named Franken. Franken's scandals around the world moved her most. When the victim Mr. X finally took revenge with a gun, Aileen no longer planned to stand by. She tried every means to replace Mrs. X and date Franken, so that Mr. X left without any suspicion. Franken is just a love prodigal who "runs when you love and lives for love"; he rejects true love and declares that he only plays love games and does not promise a permanent life. With all the affair she learned from her father's file, Ailian confessed her turbulent life to Franken to hide her true feelings. But he didn't expect Franken to have a real affection for Ai Lian, and he was embarrassed by love. So he commissioned a detective to investigate Allen's whereabouts; but he had found Chevrsey, and his father knew his daughter's behavior. He asked Frank to let go of the infatuated girl, and Frank left in a daze. When the two people bid farewell on the platform, they still pretended that everything was going to happen quickly, and they were ruthless in love. It's just a moment when the train flies, Ailian finally reveals her true feelings.

Love in the Afternoon quotes

  • police chief: Madam, it would take all of the police and military and even the Boy Scouts to investigate these incidents. Certainly madam does not want boys in short pants breaking in on situations like this!

  • Frank Flannagan: [on knowing about his numerous conquests] Aren't you a little too young for that?

Ariane Chavasse: I was about to ask you a similar question. Aren't you a little too old for that?

Frank Flannagan: That hurts! First you save a man's life, then you stab him. Is that kind?
