The story is set in a small port city along the Barents Sea in northwestern Russia . The protagonist Coria, the son of his ex-wife, and the young and beautiful wife Lilia lead a peaceful life. Coria has its own small building, with a small river passing through the French windows, and an auto repair shop on the ground floor of the small building. When the local corrupt mayor came to forcibly expropriate houses and land in the name of public facilities construction, the prelude to the tragedy of life began.
The story told by this film takes place in a small village near the Barents Sea, but it can also happen in any country where personal interests conflict with the interests of the regime and it is possible to know in advance who will win the battle. The greedy mayor focused on the house where Nicholas’s family lived, and attempted to occupy that piece of land for nothing—in fact, it was forcibly occupied. The mayor is rude, everything is under his control, from the police station to the court, he knows how to tame disobedient people.
