In "Lebanon", director Samuel Maoz used extremely concise and sharp lens language to show the psychological trauma that Israel's war with Lebanon left a young armoured forces in the 1980s, showing the alienation of the war and the destruction of human nature. The film does not put too much space on the political background, but focuses on the "personal growth history" of a soldier. Most of the footage of the film takes place inside a claustrophobic, narrow tank, and the only exit facing the outside world is a sight with a crosshair. The director borrowed this unique perspective to show that war has no race, no humanity, only the essence of hunting
.
The story of "Lebanon" can take place in any tank, in any country, and in any war. As a creative "indoor drama film", it has both formal challenges and a more realistic experience of claustrophobia . Pass it to the audience. All the war scenes in the film are shown through a sight on the tank. The death and blood in the lens are even more shocking after being discarded from other background interference. The film is a convincing reenactment. Perhaps the details may not be 100% accurate, but it is hard to forget
