When the project was established, Universal Picture hoped that Hanks could write a script that reflected the sudden changes in people's lives, so Hanks wrote the story of a middle-aged man who lost his job and re-entered the university to "charge". This story of sudden changes in life took place in school because of Hanks' "academic love." Compared with regular universities, colleges and universities have a diverse range of students, and they are more social and storytelling. He has always wanted to shoot a movie with the colleges and universities as the background. But he didn't want to play the role of teacher, principal or parent of students in the film, so he created for himself the role of a loser who was squeezed into the school by his life. In the film, X designed an image of a teacher, this role was created in accordance with the image of Julia.
