2022-10-10 13:51
Kitty, a young middle-class white-collar worker, works earnestly in the Office of the Secretary General of the Philadelphia Government Department, and Wendy, the Secretary General with the title of Playboy, has a deep affection for her. Kitty intends to open a magazine, and Wendy of course lends her hand to help, but in the context of the global economic crisis, the magazine soon collapses, and Kitty can only leave Philadelphia to New York in search of development opportunities. Kitty found a job as a salesperson in a bookstore in New York, and met Dr. Mark, who often came to bookstores to buy books. When Mark was chasing after him, Wendy's sudden appearance broke Kitty's peaceful life.
Wendy proposes to her, Kitty rejects Wendy because she is not a householder, and Wendy decides to leave the high society of Philadelphia and move to New York to show her determination. Kitty was moved by Wendy's persistence, and the two entered the marriage hall. A few weeks after their wedding, they returned to Philadelphia with the intention of telling Wendy's parents of their marriage, who, unsurprisingly, snubbed Kitty with their high-class arrogance and prejudice. Heartbroken Kitty divorced Wendy shortly after she ran away, but when she found out she was pregnant, Kitty decided to give birth to her child as a single mother.
A few years later, Kitty learns that Wendy is married to a well-matched socialite, and the encounter leaves Kitty devastated. She still loves Wendy in her heart, but sees Wendy and his wife's loving intimacy and Wendy and his wife. The child was happy, but Kitty left in a panic like a weakling. Under the guidance of Dr. Mark, Kitty re-established her outlook on life, she stood up, and planned to forget the past and start a new life. All past events are fleeting.

Kitty Foyle quotes

  • Dr. Mark Eisen: [upon meeting Kitty's roommates in facial masks and hair curlers] I've seen better specimens in a glass jar.

  • Wyn Strafford: [after hearing a long speech about why they shouldn't marry, based on class differences] Is that all?

Kitty Foyle: Oh, we're both the same color, if that's what you mean.
