"Tokyo Kirschblüten-Hanami" is the pinnacle of German female director Doris Dörrie (Doris Dorrie)'s "Japanese Trilogy" . Doris Dörrie, who is deeply influenced by Japanese director Yasujiro Ozu , is based on Ozu's " Tokyo Story " (Tokyo Story) Part of the minor episodes bloomed into a moving story of a widowed father travelling from Germany to Tokyo to fulfill his wife's wish.
The film unfolds from Allgau, a beautiful town in southern Germany, to Berlin , then to the Baltic Sea, then back to Berlin, and then across the continent to Japan. Tokyo cherry blossoms symbolize the coming of spring and the development of another part of life, representing youth, vitality and beauty.
