Charlie Price thought he would escape from the lifeless hometown of Northampton with his ambitious fiancée, Nikolai, and venture into the outside world. However, there was a misfortune in the family. The old father died unexpectedly and the family business Price & Sons shoe factory left it to him. This shoe factory has a long history and has been producing durable men's shoes since Charlie can remember. Charlie naturally took over the management of the shoe factory, but he soon discovered that the shoe factory was on the verge of bankruptcy and must fire 15 loyal and old employees. Charlie has difficulty telling these followers that the factory is about to close down. Under tremendous pressure, Charlie travels around to deal with inventory, and meets "Dress Queen" Laura in an unfamiliar place. Although Charlie couldn't accept Laura's transvestite hobby, he quickly realized that there was a huge business opportunity among the transvestite crowd, because no shoe factory could produce women's Kinky Boots that could bear the weight of men for this special group. Charlie asked Laura to be a consultant. After returning to his hometown, he mortgaged the property, persuaded the conservative workers and fiancee to start desperately, and even hoped that his products would be on the runway in Milan   .
