During the filming of "The Four Feathers" in 1929, Cooper studied the baboon tribes in Africa, and after seeing's "Komodo Dragon", Cooper created a description of Africa The outline of the script for the gorilla fighting the Komodo dragon, and then a gorilla and a woman exploring alone are identified as the master.
Cooper recommended his idea to Paramount Pictures. At the beginning of the Great Depression, Paramount gave up because he did not want to travel to Africa to film. In 1931, David O. Selznick took Cooper to Raiden Films as his personal assistant and promised to let Cooper make his own movie. Cooper thought of naming the gorilla King Kong. And let it die in the Empire State Building

The boss of the production company PKOwas very dissatisfied after seeing the script of "King Kong" and thought that the film should start with the lens of King Kong. But Cooper believes that the film should "slowly enter the theme, let the characters be shaped and emotions can accumulate"
