In 1944, the last week of the Warsaw Uprising. The Polish "National Army" garrisoned a dilapidated building under the leadership of Lieutenant Chadra. The city of Warsaw was cut off by the German army, and the composer Mikau, who had been separated from his family, had to take shelter in this 30-member team. The military disparity made the soldiers discouraged, and Mikau’s piano sounded strangely above the ruins.
The small German offensive quickly made the team unable to parry, and all members entered Kanał and evacuated from Kanał to the city center. In the dark and damp Kanał, some people in the team went crazy thinking that they could not stand the darkness and lack of oxygen. Others found a sealed exit on the edge of the river, and some climbed directly into the Nazi barracks. In despair, Mikao played the ocarina and walked into the darkness alone
