In Calcutta, full of music and joyous crowds, a 7-month pregnant woman stands alone in a dimly lit place. This woman is named Vidya (played by Vidya Balan). She is thin and lonely. When she came to this strange city, she had only one goal-to find her long-lost husband. Everyone is convinced of her husband’s disappearance, and even she herself has no definite evidence that her husband is still alive, but deep down, Vidia doesn’t believe in the fact that her husband is no longer there, let alone those responsible for handling it. With the fragmentary evidence on hand, the personnel involved in the disappearance of her husband decided to find her husband on her own. However, as the investigation deepened, Vidia found that she seemed to be the one kept in the dark, and the truth was so remote and cruel.
