When costume designer Mayes C. Rubeo designed costumes for "Alien Battlefield", the biggest source of inspiration was director Andrew Stanton. She said that Andrew's imagination came from Mars! It was as if he had been to Mars, and they had to try to record all the details in his mind.
Working for a fantasy film also gave Mayes great creative freedom. He wants to reflect the sense of antiquity in science fiction, it must be a strange imagination full of creativity and color. The way Martians wear accessories, headdresses, and even the elements of their clothing have an important influence on the film, and it also reflects the differences between the people of the two cities. He did a lot of research work, and in the end, the main images we designed for different ethnic groups were both practical and eye-catching.
