"Jaws" is adapted from Peter Benchley's novel of the same name, produced by Richard D. Zanuck (Richard D. Zanuck) and David Brown (David Brown) to obtain the adaptation of the novel The right to shoot was paid $250,000. Benchley's novel is based on real events that took place in the summer of 1916.
Although Stephen Spielberg was not the first person to be the director of the film, the two producers finally decided to sign with him. When buying the right to film the adaptation of the novel, the two producers promised to let Ben Chiley complete the first draft of the script. Before deciding to quit, Ben Chiley had already completed the third draft of the script. But the producer and Spielberg were not satisfied with the script, so they found Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Howard Sackler (Howard Sackler). Spielberg later asked the screenwriter Carl Gottlieb for advice. Carl Gottlieb rewrote most of the scenes after the film started, and John Milius. Responsible for polishing the dialogue.
