The protagonist of the film is Jane Goodall , a zoologist with a high reputation in the world. When she was in her twenties, she went to the virgin forests of Africa. In order to observe chimpanzees, she spent 38 years in the wild. All over the world, people are called on to protect wild animals and protect the earth's environment. Director Brett Morgan is especially good at character characterization. He selects and edits materials from more than 100 hours of unpublished video materials of Jane Goodall's field trips and interviews. From a first-person perspective, he tells the story of Jane Goodall's research on chimpanzees in Africa when she was young s story. Accompanied by a captivating soundtrack by Philip Glass, audiences get a sense of how a woman changed the world through passion, dedication and perseverance in an era when field research was still dominated by men. The film also intertwines the fate of human beings with animals, which greatly strengthens the relationship between man and nature.

I highly recommend this documentary about Jane Goodall, the greatest zoologist of our time, her story with chimpanzees, and the life and death she still witnesses in this long study, not only in the human world, but also in the animal world; myself I don't like Social Darwinism very much. I think it can be used as a school of thought, but it can't be used as a guide for social practice, but this idea is so deeply ingrained that it has caused thousands of years of human civilization development to be ignored: we want to escape the harm in animals , cruelty and murder, build a peaceful environment of caring for others, rather than saying the law of the jungle, the weak eat the weak; and human beings are perhaps the biggest threat to animals, "Death" has two faces, one of which is human.
