In terms of expressive techniques, the film allows the lens to freely switch between the lives of young and old Alice, without adding too much grounding narrative. What the audience sees is the strong contrast between the passionate young Alice and the old Alice who is languishing day by day, and what remains unchanged between the two is the love and care of her husband John Ashbery. The film did not arrange a happy ending in which love overcomes illness. The director just wants the audience to face the helplessness and cruelty of life, so that they can appreciate the difficulty and preciousness of being with each other for forty years in real life and loving each other for a lifetime
.
The film is an enduring love movie. Human affection and love are a theme that can most impress the audience. It is also a theme that is enduring and never going out of style. After watching the film, the audience couldn't help sighing and sighing, and even tears filled their eyes. They were deeply moved by the sincere emotions of the old couple in the film for decades, and offered sympathy and pity for the misfortune that happened to them
