The teenage scientist Samantha is one of the survivors of the earth's end-time catastrophe. She did not abandon her homeland with others, but stayed on the earth and worked hard to find a way for mankind to survive.
When the last spacecraft was heading to a distant human space colony, her determination to stay behind was shaken by the arrival of another survivor, McCain. She must decide whether to set off with McCain to start a new life in the sanctuary of mankind, or continue to stay to defend the earth.
