Jonathan Nolan was hired by Steven Spielberg as the screenwriter for the movie "Interstellar", and Spielberg has worked hard for this for four years. In order to understand the scientific theory, he went to the California Institute of Technology to study the theory of relativity while writing the script. Jonathan said that he is also pessimistic about the space flight program and how NASA lacks funds to support manned missions to Mars. The screenwriter is also looking for inspiration in some other science fiction movies, such as "Robot Story" and "Avatar". Jonathan’s brother, director Christopher Nolan, had studied the scripts of other sci-fi movies, but among a wide range of scripts, he decided to adopt the script of "Interstellar" and chose the one proposed by Jonathan and Kip S. Thorne. idea. Christopher maintained Jonathan's idea for the first hour of the film, which set a future resource-depleted earth, inspired by the black storm events in the United States during the Great Depression in the 1930s. Christopher revised the script and changed it to a team of people going into space. Inspired by the 2012 documentary "Black Storm", he contacted the film’s director Ken Burns and producer Dayton Duncan and asked them to allow them to be used for the film’s special interviews.
In April 2013, it was decided that Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway will star in "Interstellar". Director Christopher Nolan said that he became interested in McConaughey after he saw McConaughey’s performance in the 2012 movie "Sludge." He said that McConaughey's character is like a common man, and will encounter "the story that the general audience may encounter." Actor Ivan Kahan refused to participate in the film's performance because he was going to star in the Indian films "Delicious Love Letter" and "Day of Action". Matt Damon appeared in the film around the end of August 2013 and filmed his role in Iceland.
"Interstellar" is co-produced by Paramount, Warner and Legend Pictures. Paramount is responsible for North American distribution, and Warner is responsible for overseas distribution. The shooting started in Alberta, Canada in August 2013. There are about 70 minutes of IMAX camera shots in the film, and complete visual effects can be obtained in the IMAX theater (70mm IMAX theater, excluding the digital IMAX theater). Kip S. Thorne, a physicist at the California Institute of Technology, participated in the creation of the script. His research on wormholes and time travel added a lot of scientific evidence to the film. Director Christopher’s art director Nathan Crowley said that the plot also involves many scientific concepts such as the principle of black holes, the theory of relativity and universal gravitation. The photographer is Hoyt Van Holtma, the photographer of "The Potmaker, Tailor, Soldier, and Spy", not Christopher’s queen photographer Huali Pfister, and the editor is Christopher’s old partner Lee. For the fifth time, Smith and Hans Zimmer provided the soundtrack for Christopher's works.
