Powell (Anthony Hopkins Anthony Hopkins) is an anthropologist who specializes in the study of chimpanzees. He has been observing the activities of local chimpanzees in Rwanda for a long time. However, two years ago, this gentle scholar suddenly changed his temperament and disappeared mysteriously after killing two local forest managers and injuring several managers. Now, he has finally been arrested and brought to justice and detained in a high-security psychiatric prison in the United States.
The young psychiatrist Carter (Cuba Gooding Jr. played by Cuba Gooding) became famous in an attempt to unravel the mystery of Powell's psychiatric disorders , so he went to the prison and had a direct conversation with Powell. Powell was hostile to the visitor at first, and as an anthropologist, he was not let down by Carter at all. As the conversation deepened, Carter gradually learned the truth of the incident: the administrator Powell killed was actually a villain who poached the gorilla.
