The film is a remake of the Norwegian film of the same name. On the surface, it is a story of police and robbers fighting wits, but it goes beyond the general moral reflection theme and psychological thriller type. Director Christopher Nolan uses virtual and real variations to take a new direction to interpret the original film. Moral dilemma. Darkness in general associations can hide evil, but the special geographical environment of the film's extreme daylight contrasts strongly with general associations, forming a double metaphor.
The biggest change the director made to the original film was to create friction between the protagonist Will and his partner to reflect moral conflict and psychological oppression. Secondly, it aggravated the suspect's drama, through the murderer's initiative to propose a deal with the weak police officer, thereby aggravating the personality conflict of the protagonist Will. In addition, Swank's female police officer Allie's professional immaturity and her admiration for senior police officers are in stark contrast to Will played by Pacino. The changes made by the director of the original story, the meticulous attention to details, and the interpretation of the main creative actors make the film shocking.
Compared with the original Norwegian film, the film wins the plot. The confusing case, the gripping story development, and the meticulous psychological description are the highlights of the film. In addition, the addition of Al Pacino and Robin Williams, who have both won Oscar awards, adds to the film's highlights.
