At the beginning of the 1980s, a 12-year civil war broke out in El Salvador, a small country in northern Central America. Government troops and guerrillas fought fiercely for years, people were displaced, and the country was dilapidated. An 11-year-old boy, Chava (Carlos Padilla), lives with his mother and sisters. His father has left his hometown and has not heard from him. Life at home was miserable, and death threatened them at any moment. Chava, who was supposed to be studying in a school, was forced to become a child soldier with a submachine gun. Since then, the god of death has become the most intimate and terrifying companion of this group of ignorant children.
