The protagonist of the story is a Viking boy named Hikap. He lives on Bok Island and fighting against dragons is commonplace. The young man's thinking is very avant-garde, and his alternative sense of humor can't please the villagers and patriarchs of his village. When Hikap was forced to participate in the Dragon Slaying Camp with other Viking teenagers-Astrie, Rough Snot, Fishfoot, and the twins Bluffnut and Humphnut, he felt that this was his proof of himself. It's a good opportunity for a dragon slayer.
But when he met and befriended a wounded dragon, his life was completely changed, and it was Hikap's chance to prove himself, but it became an opportunity to change the future of the entire tribe. Another important character in the film is Gober. He is the village's blacksmith and dragon training camp instructor. Only he can see Hikap's potential.
