- "Rwanda Hotel" is classified as PG-13. It is no easy task to control such a film based on the Rwandan genocide at this level.
- In order to perform this film well, the actor Don Chandel carefully studied the true story that happened in Rwanda. But like most Westerners, he has no understanding of the origins of hatred between the two races.
- In the process of preparing for the shooting, he also emailed and called Paul himself to ask about the specific situation at the time, and in order to create a good character image, he asked Paul many personal questions like "what do you like to eat the most".
- Don Cheadle is the actor selected by director Terry George when he conceived the script, but in the preliminary preparations, investors wanted to ask Denzel Washington, who is more attractive at the box office, to play Paul. But in the end the film became an independent production. The director made the film at his own expense, and the protagonist did not change.
