Detective Steve McGarrett (played by Alex O'Loughlin) was once a naval officer who received the Medal of Honor and became the China Police after he retired . In order to investigate the murder of his father, he returned to his hometown of Oahu (the main island of the Hawaiian Islands). The Governor of Hawaii considered Steve a rare talent and insisted on keeping him to work on the island. She wants Steve to form an elite team dedicated to investigating serious cases-he decides the rules, and she provides support behind the scenes. This is named "Five-0" (50) teams do not go through the field , not juggle, as long as seize the island's largest gang leader, even if they get the day collapsed all right.
Steve readily agreed to the female governor's request and began to "recruit troops." The first to join the "50" crime team was Detective Danny Williams (played by Scott Caan). People call him "Danno". He used to work in the China Police Bureau in New Jersey and was recently transferred to the China Police Bureau in Hawaii. He likes the urban life full of tall buildings, and has little interest in the sun, sand, and the continuous coastline. However, in order for his 8-year-old daughter to have a healthy growth environment, he vowed to protect the safety of this small island.
Then joined Chin Ho Kelly (played by Daniel Dae Kim). He used to work as a detective at the China Police in Honolulu (the capital of Hawaii), but was demoted to the Federal Security Patrol as a patrol officer because of false corruption allegations. He was once a disciple of McGarrett's father.
Chin's cousin Kono (played by Grace Park) was born and raised in Hawaii, strong and aggressive, and a bit like a tomboy. She had just graduated from China Police School and was eager to prove her abilities in her job, so she voluntarily asked to join the "50" Crime Squad.
With the help of the "50" Crime Squad, McGarrett vowed to end the case of his father's murder and let his father rest in peace. At the same time, he will lead his comrades to sweep away all evil on this beautiful island, and make Hawaii-the "50th" state of the United States-always a paradise on earth.
