On August 20, 2013, the lead creator of the crew specially boarded the Tokyo tourist steamboat "HOTALUNA" designed by Leiji Matsumoto himself to promote the show.
The original Leiji Matsumoto commented on the film: "The quality is very, very high. After watching it, I shed tears of joy."
Regarding the final scene of the film, Leiji Matsumoto hinted at the possibility of creating a sequel. When asked about his views on Hayao Miyazaki's high-profile retirement, Matsumoto first hoped that Director Miyazaki would continue to work, and then made it clearhe would not retire.
