.
The film was filmed in London in January 1996, with Hugh Crutwell, the former dean of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, as a consultant, and Jackson, the deputy dean of Shakespeare College, assisting Branagh.
The film is the first British film to be shot on 70mm widescreen film in 25 years. It was shot in five studios at Shepperton Studios. The location was taken entirely from Blenheim Manor in Oxfordshire.
The main interior of Elsinore Castle took three months to build, and it took up two studios at the Shepperton Studios, with a total length of more than 250 feet. Because the two studios are connected together, Brana can follow the movement of the characters freely and coherently shooting. The floor of the studio is very flat, so that the camera can move smoothly without being disturbed by bumps.
The magnificent hall is the largest indoor setting in the film. It was built in a separate studio. The black and white tiles on the ground were all made by hand. There were 30 mirrors inlaid on the walls. In order to facilitate shooting, these The mirrors are mounted on hinges that can be adjusted at any time to prevent the camera and crew from being reflected during the shooting.
When filming at Blenheim Manor, the crew used 200 tons of artificial snow and the total area of artificial snow laid by 45 workers was 180 acres. There are 12 kinds of these artificial snows. When the filming was completed, it only took 3 weeks to remove the artificial snow, of which more than 100 tons were transported in the first week
